An 8 Day Meditation for Holy Week

Easter Sunday

Scripture: Matthew 28:1-10; Luke 24:1-8 (The Resurrection)

“He isn’t here!” They were terrified at what they just saw and couldn’t look up. His face shone like lightening, his robe was dazzling. Their hearts were racing and their minds were confused. The tomb was empty… where was the body of This Jesus? The angels almost seemed surprised that the women were bewildered.

Remember what He told you? They were awestruck. How did they forget that He had told them that He would be betrayed, crucified, and rise again on the third day? Hope began to overflow from their hearts. He’s Alive!!! He’s Alive!!! They were still trembling but filled with great joy as they ran to share the good news. Along the way they encountered the One who the crowd had originally asked, Who is this Jesus? This Jesus—the One who came to seek and save the lost, who gave His life as a ransom for many, who humbled Himself and became obedient unto death— Is Alive!!!

May God continue to impress on our hearts as His disciples the impact of Jesus’ death and resurrection. May the world wide body of believers continually and boldly bear witness that Jesus is alive. Let us go and tell others about This Jesus!
